New this year: Top Filipino-American Chefs Exhibition!
CHICAGO, Illinois, August 21, 2011 –One finalist armed with the secret to a great adobo recipe will walk
away with the bragging rights to Chicago’s Best Tasting Adobo at Adobofest 2011 on Saturday, September
17. Adobofest, the largest annual Filipino-American community picnic, adobo taste-off, and music and
exhibits festival in the Midwest will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at LaBagh Woods, located at Foster
and Cicero Avenues in the northwest side of the city.
Another top prize waiting to be won is the People’s Choice – determined by the highest number of votes
garnered from festival attendees who will have a chance to taste the entries after making a one-time donation
of $9, and judge who among the 30 contestants cooked the best adobo.  All contestants will receive a bag of
rice, courtesy of Three Horses Jasmine Rice and a $25 Target Gift Card to help cover their expenses. Both
category winners will go home with trophies and other soon to be announced prizes.
Originated and led by the not-for-profit Filipino American Network (FAN) and co-hosted the last two years
by Gawad Kalinga (GK), Adobofest is going strong on its 4th consecutive year.
