December 5, 2009 is a big day celebration for the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago (PACCGC). PACCGC is celebrating its 25th Anniversary! The original Philippine Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1984 and was recognized as Philippine Chamber of Commerce of Chicago in 1989. It was renamed Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago to include businesses and entrepreneurs statewide in good standing. The PACCGC is a non-profit organization under IRS 501(c) 6 and has been a delegate agency for the City of Chicago.
PACCGC will kick off the 25th Anniversary Celebration by hosting two events on Saturday, December 5th. First, is the Leadership Conference in the morning and followed by a Business Forum after the luncheon. The celebration will be held at Wyndham O’Hare Hotel located at 6810 North Mannheim Road, Rosemont, Illinois.
The Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce (FPACC), a national organization of Philippine Chambers of Commerce in North America with its new President, Mr. Jaime Lim from Oregon, will join the anniversary celebration of PACCGC by spearheading the Leadership Conference in Chicago. The Leadership Conference will convene at 9:00 AM and wrap up by 12:00 noon. Luncheon will be served at noon with a keynote speaker. Members from the PACCGC and the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Illinois are encouraged to attend the Leadership Conference. Seminar fee for the Leadership Conference with continental breakfast and luncheon is $35.00 only.
Ms. Faith Bautista, President of Mabuhay Alliance (MA), a non-profit organization based in California, an advocacy organization for empowerment and recognition of ethnic minorities, especially Pan-Asian Americans, Latinos and Afro-Americans will celebrate with the PACCGC’s 25th anniversary celebration. MA will be coordinating the Business Forum scheduled from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Admission to the Business Forum is free. Pre-registration is encouraged either on-line by visiting www.paccgc.org or by calling the organizers.
The Business Forum will discuss topics on the following: 1) Small Business and Economic Development which includes Micro Lending, Business Loans, SBA, and Supplier Diversity. 2) Homeownerships which will include Home Foreclosures, How to Own and Sell a Property, and 3) Broadband and Ethnic Media and will also cover subjects in Communications, Local Ethnic Papers, and the Internet.
The culminating activity of the PACCGC’s Silver Jubilee will be the Gala and Dinner Ball which starts at 6:30pm with a Cocktails and Reception. At the same time, organizers for the Silent Auction will accept bids for various works of arts, collectible items and antiques. The Dinner Ball and Gala will be graced with the presence of Ms. Sandra Thompson, Director of FDICs Division of Supervision and Consumer Protection, as the Keynote Speaker for the evening.
Tickets for the Gala and Dinner Ball are $65.00 per person.
